Wandering into the woods, I found a secret garden in the heart of the forest. Ancient, elemental - holding its breath for someone who would finally know how to exhale.

Hibiki Haus called to me, now she has called to you.

The Space

Designed for couples, solo wanderers, and old friends in need of each other, it is a place built around a single idea - that stillness is not the absence of something, but the presence of everything you've been too busy to notice.

Stone walls. Open fire. A hot tub under the stars. The forest, doing what forests do.

Hibiki Haus is a handcrafted one-bedroom cabin on a pond, set within 50 acres of private forest — surrounded by hundreds of acres of untouched wilderness and not a neighbour in sight.

Mindfully refurbished by Emma and a trusty craftsman using authentic materials, Hibiki Haus is intentionally pared back and just the right size for two.

Powered entirely by sun, rain and gas — with Starlink keeping you connected should you want to be — it treads lightly and asks nothing of the grid.

Unplug entirely, or stay connected on your own terms. Either way, the forest doesn't mind.

Facilities:

A fully stocked kitchen for long, unhurried meals

A deep double shower with wooden floor

A king-sized bed dressed in Belgian linen

A wood burner for the evenings that call for it

A wood-fired hot tub under open sky

A fire pit for the conversations that only happen after dark

There's also wifi but we won't tell if you won't.

Upon request a second bed can be arranged for pals not looking to snuggle.

Private Botanical Garden

The garden knows what season it is before you do.

Spring announces itself in bluebells and cherry blossom. Summer hums in the lavender grove and blazes, in December, along the Laburnum walk — a natural archway of bright yellow that stops you where you stand. Autumn turns the Japanese maples and birches from green to amber to gold to nothing. Winter gives it all back to moss, fern and the quiet geometry of eucalypts.

Three acres of botanical gardens wind through the property — native trees alongside European varieties, irises and reeds edging the pond, paths that go nowhere in particular and take their time about it. Kookaburras, parrots and wrens move through the canopy above. The birdsong is constant and unhurried, which tells you everything you need to know about the health of this place.

The fire pit and wood-fired hot tub sit where the cultivated meets the wild. Both are exactly as good as they sound.

A full kitchen stocked for long breakfasts. A window seat made for watching rain. Heavy linen, sheepskin, the smell of woodsmoke. Fast wifi, for when you remember it exists. Walking trails from the door. A fire pit for the kind of conversations that only happen after dark.

*Forest bathing included free of charge.
